Void is calling for artists from (or living in) Greece, Bulgaria or Cyprus to join FUTURES.

Void’s talents will have the opportunity to showcase their work on an international stage and contribute to a community of like-minded peers.

What is it?

Void is a member of FUTURES Photography Platform, which was founded in 2018 and is supported by the EU culture programme Creative Europe. We are more than 20 member institutions from all over Europe within the photographic field. Among the members are prominent institutions like FOMU, PhotoIreland, Fotofestiwal Lodz, Camera Torino, Copenhagen Photo Festival and many others.

Void has been part of the platform since 2021.

How does the platform work?

Each year, every platform member nominates five new talents to join FUTURES, and it has gathered hundreds of talents. FUTURES offers opportunities to enhance the careers of lens-based artists through activities such as promotion, individual portfolio reviews, networking meetings, online learning programs, tutoring sessions, and more.

Void's nominated artists of 2025

What do you get as a FUTURES talent?

In the nomination year

  • Each artist receives a fee of €500

  • Four online Futures Conversations with experts

  • Invitation to come to the annual event. In 2026. Travel and accommodation fees covered

  • Possibility to participate in the call for the Annual Exhibition (that travels through some members in Europe)

  • Chance to request a tutoring session 

  • Published on the FUTURES website 

  • Promotion via social media channels FUTURES and catalogues

  • Invitations to events across the platform’s members

  • Access to an online learning programme with Magnum Photos

In the following years

You keep the following benefits

  • Ability to participate in Futures Conversations (exclusive for FUTURES artists, limited availability)

  • Possibility to participate in the call for the Annual Exhibition (exclusively for FUTURES artists)

  • Chance to request a tutoring session

  • Published on the FUTURES website

Conditions

You have to be from (or live in) Greece, Bulgaria, or Cyprus.

You are either educated within the field of photography/art or your CV presents a continual professional experience within the last 3 years, e.g. participation in an exhibition or publication.

No age restrictions.

If you applied in the past, you are still invited to apply this year.

Selection

A committee formed by the photographer and professor Kata Geibl and Maria Sturm, plus Myrto Steirou from the Void team, were be responsible for the selection of the talents.
